Atletico Madrid cruised to a third straight win in LaLiga thanks to a dominant second-half performance against Sevilla on Saturday.

Diego Simeone insists he is not getting excited, despite Atletico Madrid earning a third straight LaLiga win against Sevilla on Saturday.

Atletico ran out 3-0 winners thanks to second-half goals from Julian Alvarez, Thiago Almada and Antoine Griezmann, who scored his 200th LaLiga goal to help wrap up the points.

He is the 11th player (and sixth foreign player) to reach this milestone in the competition's history.

Almada and Griezmann both came off the bench, with the former also getting the assist for the last goal, meaning that Atletico have scored five times via substitutes this season, with only Barcelona (six) netting more.

After a stuttering start to the season, Atletico are currently fourth thanks to their winning streak, during which they have not conceded.

They are still some way off leaders Real Madrid, but when asked how he sees the season panning out, Simeone said he is only focused on the matches ahead of him.

"I'm not looking that far ahead," he said. "I'm looking at Tuesday's match [against Union Saint-Gilloise].

"I'm very happy with [Matteo] Ruggeri's performance, [David] Hancko's performance at centre-back, [Alex] Baena's performance in midfield, and we're looking for more.

"I'm not going to stand still, and we're going to try to continue getting the best out of every player we have, because they're very good.

"The penalty helped us open them up more, and the substitutions gave us more space and opportunities, and we had a strong second half."

Giuliano Simeone also played a key role in the victory, setting up Almada's goal after winning the ball back high on the right wing.

That was his fourth assist in LaLiga so far this season, more than any other Atletico player, with all of those coming at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

He has also contributed to goals in his last three matches in the league (one goal, two assists).

And Simeone has been impressed with his son’s growth this season, saying: "He's a player who’s growing, who's humble. He needs to stay on that path to become the player he wants to be.

"He's in great physical shape, which allows him to repeat his efforts. He's earned his place on the team and has a good relationship with the group, which is what I value most.

"I try to separate the feelings of father and son from those of coach and player."
