Championship: Coventry, Middlesbrough and Millwall all clinch comeback wins

Coventry City continued their impressive winning streak, while Middlesbrough and Millwall round out the top three after their own comebacks.

Coventry City came from behind to maintain their 10-point lead at the top of the Championship table with a 3-1 win over Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

Harvey Knibbs opened the scoring for Charlton in the 13th minute, turning in Tyreece Campbell's deflected shot, but Josh Eccles levelled the score in the 40th minute with a long-range effort.

Ellis Simms headed in his first four minutes later and then ensured Coventry would leave with all three points when he turned in from close range with 14 minutes remaining.

It was their 11th win in 12 games, and it ensured that they kept their cushion at the top after Middlesbrough won their first match under Kim Hellberg, 2-1 against Derby County.

Like Coventry, Middlesbrough had to come from behind after Patrick Agyemang's second-minute opener gave the visitors a half-time lead.

But Matt Targett and John Eustace turned the game on its head in nine second-half minutes to move them up to second in the table.

And Millwall are just two points behind them in third after edging Southampton 3-2 in a five-goal thriller.

Femi Azeez and Caleb Taylor had cancelled out Adam Armstrong's penalty, but Finn Azaz looked to have snatched a late point, until Tristan Crama settled it with a 97th-minute winner.

Preston North End, meanwhile, pushed themselves up to fifth with a 3-2 victory of their own over bottom-of-the-table Sheffield Wednesday, thanks to Mads Frokjaer-Jensen's winner.

Data Debrief: Free-scoring Coventry top the charts

Simms' second goal of the match was the 50th goal that Coventry have scored in the Championship this season, the most of any team in the top four English divisions.

They have won each of their last five matches, scoring 14 goals in that run, and only failing to score more than once against Stoke City.

Perhaps more impressive is the fight shown by Frank Lampard's side; they have won 13 points from losing positions, with only Watford (15) recovering more.
