FotMob Daily Briefing: Four things to look out for on Day 4 at the Euros
We hope you enjoyed the opening weekend of the tournament and are ready for the first full week of back-to-back games! In this daily feature on FotMob, which is going to run for the entirety of the tournament, here are four things you should look out for as Romania face off against Ukraine, Belgium entertain Slovakia, and France come up against dark horses Austria.

Antoine Griezmann can break a record
Antoine Griezmann might be one of the most underappreciated talents in world football. The Atlético Madrid striker has been a key part of this golden generation for France and he could, yet again, be a difference-maker for Didier Deschamps’ side.
If he finds himself amongst the goals at Euro 2024, he could eclipse France legend Michel Platini. During his playing career, Platini scored nine goals at the European championships, a total that only Cristiano Ronaldo (14) can better. Griezmann is currently on seven goals, having scored six at Euro 2016 on his way to the Golden Boot.
He’s in good scoring form for Atlético, netting 24 goals across all competitions last season, so you wouldn’t bet against him adding to his haul for his country this summer. One good game could see him climb above Platini. That good game could be against Austria.
The Artem Dovbyk show
Dovbyk had a season to remember for Girona in LaLiga. The 6ft2 striker scored 24 goals as Girona claimed an unlikely Champions League spot. Interest in the 26-year-old is high with Atlético Madrid, Chelsea, and Napoli all believed to be keen.
He reportedly has a €40million release clause. A solid showing here could see the line of potential suitors swell significantly. And Dovbyk does look set to be the main man for Serhiy Rebrov’s side this summer, an upgrade on the squad role he was given at Euro 2000.

Ukraine are a young squad with a lot of potential to make a big impression at Euro 2024. But their success could he heavily tied to the performances of Dovbyk. If he lives up to the expectation, Rebrov’s men could be one of the surprise packages of the competition.
Romelu Lukaku’s last hurrah?
Romelu Lukaku is still just 31. Having burst onto the scene as a teenager, he’s been around forever, but this could well be his last major tournament for Belgium. He enjoyed a decent season on loan with Roma, scoring 21 goals, but his future is up in the air at the moment with Chelsea wanting to sell the striker while injuries are also hampering him somewhat.
Even if it isn’t his last hurrah, this could be the last time this particular group of Belgium players is together at a tournament, so they will want to go out on a high. And Lukaku could be the difference between success and failure.
He thrives playing for the Red Devils and has 85 goals for his country. He was the top scorer in qualification with 14 and this favourable group they have been drawn in presents him with an opportunity to add to his overall tally. He isn’t going to want to waste this opportunity.

An opportunity for Tedesco
It wasn’t that long ago that Domenico Tedesco was viewed by many as the next great young manager to come out of the Bundesliga.
The Italian tactician impressed for Schalke before a dip in form saw him dismissed. He then turned up in Russia with Spartak Moscow before returning to Germany with RB Leipzig. His time there was inconsistent and he was eventually dismissed before being appointed as Belgium manager in February 2023.
Under Tedesco, Belgium have won 10 of their 14 games and they look a lot more dominant than they did previously, despite having an inferior squad. Still only 38, this could be a huge opportunity for the young manager to put himself in the shop window.
