'I should have had a hat-trick' – Haaland wants more goals after reaching Premier League century

Erling Haaland answered, "why not?" when asked whether he had another 100 Premier League goals in him.

The Norwegian striker reached a century of goals in the English top-flight during Manchester City’s thrilling 5-4 win over Fulham on Tuesday. 

Haaland brought up the milestone in just his 111th Premier League game, becoming the fastest player to reach triple figures, beating Alan Shearer's previous record (124 outings).

City, meanwhile, won a league match in which they conceded as many as four goals for the first time since December 1957, a 5-4 victory against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

Haaland was delighted to reach 100 Premier League goals, becoming the first but still left room for self-criticism after hitting the woodwork twice at Craven Cottage.

"Proud moment. 100 club is a huge thing. To do it this quickly is amazing. I'm proud, I'm happy," Haaland told Match of the Day.

"I've said it many times – a striker for City should score a lot of goals. That's my job, that's what I try to do. And I'm not bad at it!

"I should have had a hat-trick, I had a few chances. I need to practice."

This was the sixth Premier League game involving City to see at least nine goals scored, with only Manchester United (seven) being involved in more.  

Pep Guardiola's side are now just two points behind Arsenal, who host Brentford on Wednesday.

Although Haaland recognised the importance of the win, he believes City are not in a position to be looking at Arsenal yet.

"It's important, Arsenal came here and won here," Haaland told Sky Sports.

"Fulham are a great team but we shouldn't think too much about Arsenal.

"We should focus on ourselves, today wasn't good enough and we know this. We need to improve as a team and that's what we'll do."
