Daly extends contract with Aston Villa

Del

Aston Villa agreed a new contract extension with Rachel Daly after an impressive finish to the season.

Rachel Daly has signed a new two-year contract extension at Aston Villa.

The striker's new contract will keep her at the club until June 2027, having joined Villa three years ago from NWSL side Houston Dash.

Daly has made 87 appearances for Villa in all competitions, scoring 59 goals in that time. She scored 30 of those in her first season, in which she also won the Women's Super League Player of the Season and the Golden Boot, netting 22 times in the league.

The former Lioness scored eight goals in the WSL last season, the joint-eighth highest tally in the league, and also registered three assists.

The 33-year-old accumulated the fifth-most expected goals in the league (7.4 xG) and ranked eighth for direct goal contributions (11).

She ended her campaign on a high, either scoring or assisting in each of her last four WSL games, and Villa finished sixth.

Daly is the second Villa player to sign a new contract this week after Sarah Mayling also extended her stay until June 2027.
