Harry Kane has been scoring for fun in all competitions for Bayern Munich this season, but Thomas Muller says there is more to his game.

Thomas Muller says Harry Kane has "brutal individual class" but believes it is unfair to solely categorise him as just a goalscorer.

Muller played alongside Kane at Bayern for two seasons before he departed at the end of the 2024-25 campaign to join the Vancouver Whitecaps in MLS.

Kane has been a force to be reckoned with this season for Bayern, scoring 22 times in all competitions already and breaking records amid their perfect start to their Bundesliga title defence.

The striker has netted 12 times in the Bundesliga this season — a tally greater than the total goals scored by every team in the German top flight except Bayern, Eintracht Frankfurt (19), Bayer Leverkusen (16), and Borussia Dortmund (13).

His goal against Dortmund in the Klassiker on Saturday was his 400th of his club career, and he has now contributed to goals in his last nine league games (14 goals, four assists).

Kane has scored his haul from an expected goals tally of 6.1, an overperformance of 5.9, and currently averages a goal every 48.6 minutes.

And though he keeps improving his numbers, Muller believes it is a disservice to his talents to only focus on his goal-scoring.

"That's no surprise, because he simply has brutal individual class. I always say: Everything you can do is easy," Muller told Abendzeitung.

"Accordingly, that won't change for him with all the goals he's scored, as long as he can walk.

"He's the captain of the England national team and was the key player at Spurs. He's someone who likes to take on responsibility.

"He also feels a sense of responsibility towards the club and the team. That's why, regardless of his athletic performance, he's a very important figure in the dressing room and also for the club."

Muller has scored eight goals since his switch to Vancouver, who are currently preparing for the first round of the playoffs, and he jokingly said he did not want to compare his numbers to Kane.

"I don't think I want to fight a battle with Harry because I'll come up short in the end," Muller joked.

"Now I know what it's like. When you're allowed to take penalties, it's not that difficult."
