Villa sign Netherlands international Baijings from Bayern

Aston Villa have continued their preparations for the 2025-26 Women's Super League season by signing Jill Baijings permanently.
Aston Villa have signed Netherlands midfielder Jill Baijings on a permanent deal, after she spent the 2024-25 season on loan from Bayern Munich.
Baijings made 12 Women's Super League appearances – eight of them starts – during her loan spell with Villa, after contributing to Bayern's Frauen-Bundesliga title win in 2023-24.
Villa ended the campaign on a five-match winning run after appointing Natalia Arroyo as Robert de Pauw's successor in January, finishing sixth in the table.
Only once have they finished higher in the WSL, having finished fifth in 2022-23 – their only other top-half placing.
Baijings has eight senior international caps but was left out of the Oranje's squad for Euro 2025, as they finished third in Group D behind France and England, suffering an early exit.
Baijings, who had been named in her country's preliminary Euros squad but missed the final cut, is Villa's third signing of the transfer window, after Lynn Wilms and Ellie Roebuck.
