Chelsea 'switched off' during Sunderland defeat, concedes Chalobah
Chelsea looked the more likely team to snatch all three points against Sunderland, but the hosts were stunned against the run of play.
Trevoh Chalobah conceded Chelsea "switched off" in their dramatic defeat against Sunderland.
The Blues missed the chance to move up to second in the Premier League table, after the Black Cats came from behind to snatch all three points at Stamford Bridge.
Wilson Isidor cancelled out Alejandro Garnacho's earlier effort, and with Chelsea dominating at 1-1, Sunderland appeared to be content with a point.
However, Regis Le Bris' side delivered a hammer blow in the third minute of stoppage time, as Chemsdine Talbi snatched all three points on the counter.
Enzo Maresca's side have now dropped six points from winning positions this season, more than any other team in the Premier League, and Chalobah could not hide his disappointment.
"[It is a] difficult one. They came to disrupt our game," he told Sky Sports. "We had a couple of chances in the first half; we created some in the second, but switched off at the end.
"As a team, it is not the best of games, but it is one we have to learn from.
"With the Champions League, we have a lot of games, but we can't complain. These are the games we want to play in, and we can't use that as an excuse.
"Everyone felt that one [in the dressing room]. It is a game we needed to win. We have been very good at Stamford Bridge, so it is disappointing."
Sunderland moved onto 17 points, their joint-best tally after the opening nine games of any Premier League season, going second in the table.
The Black Cats are also unbeaten in their last 14 away league games in London, extending their best ever such streak.
"We are Sunderland, we have a great team with great players," Talbi said.
"We can do the job, and we showed it today. We will not talk too soon, but I think we are going to have a great season."
"We are not second, it is not the end of the season," Isidor added. "We have to keep focusing.
"People think we are a really young team, but we have a lot of character. First of all, we are wearing the badge of Sunderland. We always believe."
