Paul Pogba annonces investment in new Camel Racing venture!

Never shy to use his earnings from football to make a canny investment, Paul Pogba has been named as a new ambassador and shareholder in the ‘world’s first professional camel racing team.’

This new venture, the Saudi-based Al Haboob camel racing team, was founded by Omar Almaeena and Safwan Modir and their camels will be competing across the UAE and wider GCC. And Paul Pogba is an excited advocate for the sport.

“I am incredibly excited to be joining forces with Al Haboob. From the moment I spoke with Omar and Safwan, I felt their passion, their vision, and their genuine love for this sport. They are forward-thinking entrepreneurs who want to build something meaningful, and that energy is contagious – it’s something I picked up on from our very first meeting.”

“I’ve always been someone who wants to try new things and do things differently – whether it’s how I play, how I express myself, or how I approach life off the pitch. That mindset has followed me into my business world too. I look for unique, exciting opportunities that challenge me and allow me to grow. Al Haboob represents exactly that: something fresh, something meaningful, and something exciting while staying true to who I am.”

Camel racing dates back centuries but now, with robot jockeys equipped with GPS trackers and purpose built arenas, the sport is enjoying something of a revolution, with the aim being to take it from the desert to a global audience.

The news comes after Pogba, a World Cup winner with France in 2018, recently made his return to professional football. Having featured in the matchday squad for AS Monaco’s last five games, Pogba has already made three substitute appearances in Ligue 1.

With Monaco just outside the top six in France’s top flight, and handily placed in the Champions League playoff places, we should be seeing far more of the former Juventus and Manchester United star over the coming months.
