Palace boss Glasner shoots down contract speculation as 'fake news'
Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has dismissed speculation he is close to signing a new deal amid his team's 19-game unbeaten run.
Oliver Glasner has spoken out amid speculation regarding his Crystal Palace future, stating that there are "no contract talks" ongoing between him and the club.
The Eagles, who remain the only side unbeaten in the Premier League this season, won their first major trophy under Glasner last term as they beat Manchester City to clinch the FA Cup.
The Austrian has since led them to a Community Shield triumph, while they are on a club-record 19-game unbeaten run across all competitions.
Following Palace's last-gasp 2-1 victory over Liverpool last weekend and a 2-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv in their Conference League opener, Glasner's future at Selhurst Park has been under increased speculation, with his contract up at the end of the season.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Glasner said: "There are so many rumours, the fact is that we didn't talk about a contract, I haven't been offered a contract.
"Of course, I can't reject a contract offer, so that is the situation.
"We are focused on performing, and there are no talks about my contract situation.
"So, that is the situation. Everything else is fake news."
Palace, who will be looking to extend their undefeated run to 20 games, face Everton in the Premier League at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday.
Should the Eagles avoid defeat, they will have gone 13 successive Premier League games without a loss, which would set a new club record in the top flight.
