Former Manchester United star Nikita Parris has left Brighton after a single campaign, having helped the Seagulls to their best WSL finish.

Nikita Parris has left Brighton following the expiration of her contract, with the forward expected to join the London City Lionesses.

Parris – who was part of England's Euro 2022-winning squad and has scored 17 goals in 74 international appearances – joined Brighton from Manchester United in September 2024.

She scored seven goals in 22 league games for the Seagulls as they achieved their highest-ever position in the Women's Super League, finishing fifth.

Parris also registered five assists, with only Lauren Hemp (eight), Mary Fowler (seven), Celin Bizet and Viviane Asseyi (both six) achieving more in the competition.

Parris will reportedly undergo a medical with the London City Lionesses – who won the Women's Championship ahead of Birmingham City last season – on Tuesday.

Brighton coach Dario Vidosic told the club's website: "Nikita has played a vital role in helping us achieve our highest-ever WSL finish.

"Her professionalism, both on and off the pitch, has been outstanding, and her experience has been hugely influential within the squad — especially in guiding some of our younger players.

"Her goals and tactical awareness have offered consistency and leadership in the final third. We're truly grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her last season and wish her nothing but the best in the next stage of her career."

In March, Parris became just the fourth player to register 100 WSL goal involvements, having scored 67 goals and assisted 33.

Vivianne Miedema (87 goals, 36 assists), Beth Mead (69 goals, 48 assists) and Bethany England (82 goals, 24 assists) are the only players with more in the competition's history.

Parris was recently left out of England's party for Euro 2025, having earned a recall to Sarina Wiegman's squad earlier this year.
