Bruno Fernandes is set for a landmark appearance for Manchester United against Brighton, and is leaving no room for talk of his future.

Bruno Fernandes says he has not agreed to leave Manchester United and refuses to talk about his future until after the World Cup next year.

Fernandes joined United in January 2020 from Sporting CP and is set to make his 300th appearance for the club against Brighton on Saturday.

Since moving to the Premier League, he has missed just 17 games in total, and only three of those through illness or injury.

He has been a key figure for United, racking up 184 goal involvements in that time (100 goals, 84 assists).

However, reports emerged that he had rejected a big-money move to Al-Hilal in the last transfer window and stated that he had no intention of leaving United.

Fernandes' current contract is set to expire in 2027, though he has the option for an extra year, but he is not looking beyond the end of the campaign.

"As I've always said, I feel good here. I want to achieve my dreams still," he said.

"I can't talk for the club. I've seen a lot of people talking that I had an agreement to go already next season. If the club has done that agreement, it wasn't made with me. I haven't spoken with anyone.

"My agent also knows how I work. If he wants to talk to me, it will be after the World Cup. Until then, I won't speak to anyone."

The fee Al-Hilal were reportedly prepared to pay was in excess of £100m – what would have been a club record sale.

However, Ruben Amorim has made it clear since joining United that he wants to build the team around Fernandes.

"He said to me, 'No, we want more players to help you to become a better team. If we bring some people and lose you, we're still going to lose something'," Fernandes said of Amorim.

In his nearly six years in Manchester, Fernandes has lifted the EFL Cup and FA Cup, both under Erik ten Hag, while he has also reached the Europa League final twice (2021, 2025), losing on both occasions.

The United captain is determined to add to that haul, with team achievements much more important to him than personal accolades.

"Obviously, I want people to say good things about me. I would be lying if I say not," he said.

"But I want the team achievements. That's missing in my time at United.

"I haven't been able to give the success this club wants and the success I wanted in my head when I signed.

"My individual performance will put me in some place, but not in the place I want to be.

"I want to win trophies, I want to be recognised by the many good things I did for the club, not just my individual numbers."
