Tom Cairney will stay at Fulham until at least 2026, having recently passed 10 years at Craven Cottage.

Fulham have handed club captain Tom Cairney a one-year contract extension, which will take his stay at Craven Cottage into an 11th season.

Cairney joined Fulham from Blackburn Rovers in 2015 and has helped the London club win promotion to the Premier League on three occasions.

The midfielder helped them to the Championship title in 2021-22, having participated in play-off final victories in 2018 and 2020, scoring against Aston Villa in the former game.

Cairney has made 354 appearances for Fulham in all competitions, the most of any player since the turn of the century.

His 47 goals in that time have only been bettered by Aleksandar Mitrovic's 111, while his 35 assists are the most of any Fulham player in that span, one more than Steed Malbranque.

Cairney told Fulham's media channels: "I'm happy to sign for another year at this amazing football club, I'm delighted. It feels brilliant. It feels right. It's always been home.

"I've fully enjoyed the last three years in the Premier League, contributing on and off the pitch, and I just want to help take this club as far as I can. I'll always try and do that."

Of Cairney's 29 appearances in all competitions last season, 23 came from the bench. He scored two goals but failed to supply an assist, with Andreas Pereira, Sander Berge and Sasa Lukic the regular starters in Marco Silva's midfield.
