Juventus in no rush to extend Yildiz's contract
Kenan Yildiz has been Juventus' standout performer this season, but the Italian giants are in no rush to offer the youngster fresh terms.
Giorgio Chiellini claims Juventus are in no rush to tie down playmaker Kenan Yildiz to a new contract.
Yildiz has been in fine form for the Bianconeri this season, scoring three goals and providing four assists in all competitions. The Turkiye international has also created 30 chances.
The 20-year-old is under contract until the end of the 2028-29 campaign.
While initial talks between Yildiz's representatives and Juve have started, but Chiellini, who is now director of football strategy at the club, insisted there is no urgency to strike a deal.
Speaking at the Social Football Summit, Chiellini said: "Slowly and calmly [we are working on it]. Everyone wants to make it happen."
Juve sacked Igor Tudor last month in the wake of an eight-game winless run, with Luciano Spalletti taking over.
The Bianconeri are five points adrift of Serie A leaders Inter, and Chiellini feels Juve need to have realistic expectations for this season.
He said: "The coming months will be difficult, but also stimulating.
"After a golden decade, the last three years have been tougher than others, but there’s still a light. In my opinion, this club will manage to overcome all the changes.
"There’s a much brighter light than what we can see now. Of course, it’s more tiring, but I see at the end of this path, a train travelling far and bringing Juventus back to that normality of knowing how to win, accepting defeat and learning from challenges."
Juve take on Fiorentina this weekend.
