Douglas Luiz could be set for a spell on the sidelines as Sean Dyche updated on the Nottingham Forest midfielder on Wednesday.

Sean Dyche said the injury sustained by Douglas Luiz is "not likely to be a quick situation" as Nottingham Forest prepare to face Sturm Graz in the Europa League.

Midfielder Luiz went off hurt as Forest drew 2-2 at home to Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Forest boss Dyche said the 27-year-old needs more evaluation on the issue but did not offer a particularly hopeful outlook.

Speaking at a pre-match news conference, Dyche said: "Douglas Luiz is going to receive treatment.

"That is not likely to be a quick situation; we are waiting on more news."

Dyche also confirmed that winger Callum Hudson-Odoi will be absent for Thursday's contest at Merkur Arena but offered a more optimistic update on the former Chelsea man.

"Callum is hopefully going to be slightly easier. He won't be ready for this game, but we will see how it goes for the weekend," Dyche added.

"The international break is going to be important for a few players, to give them more of a chance to get fit. Woody [Chris Wood] is making good progress."

With Igor Jesus suspended, and the likes of Omari Hutchinson, Taiwo Awoniyi and Jair Cunha not included in their Europa League squad, Dyche said he will look at mixing up his XI.

"We will have to look at changes and rotating," he said.

"I try to win every game; everyone will know that. I'm not one for rotating all the time, but on this occasion, I think we have got to be careful with where we're going to make sure our players are fit and ready to deliver."

Forest are 17th in the league phase, having taken four points from three games.
