Juventus 'treat each match like a final', claims Tudor ahead of Real Madrid clash

Juventus visit Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday, as they seek their first European victory of the season.

Igor Tudor has claimed Juventus prepare for "each game as though it were a final" as they travel to Spain to take on Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Bianconeri are currently on a six-game winless run, having drawn five of their last six in all competitions, with their latest game ending in a 2-0 defeat away at Como in Serie A.

Juve are yet to register a win in this season's Champions League, drawing both of their league phase games so far, against Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal.

The Italian giants have managed just one win in their last 11 away games in the Champions League (D5 L5) — a 3-2 victory over RB Leipzig in October 2024.

"I expect a big reaction. To come here, the motivation just happens; it's an isolated game, and I'm confident tomorrow we’ll play a good game," Tudor said at a press conference.

"I think we'll have a great match tomorrow. They're a team of great champions. We can't come here tomorrow and overthink too much because they score goals so easily. It will be a fantastic match between two great teams.

"We have to approach it the right way, playing a disciplined game, trying to concede as little as possible. We prepare for each match as if it were a final, regardless of the opponent.

"My primary goal is to help the team perform at their best, putting all the players in the ideal conditions to show their qualities."

Meanwhile, Madrid sit top of LaLiga and have been in prolific form in Europe, scoring 18 goals and winning each of their last five Champions League group/league stage matches.

They have also triumphed in 12 of their previous 13 home games at this stage, with their only setback a 3-1 defeat to AC Milan in November 2024.

"I don't read the newspaper, whether I win or lose. I don't lose energy. I don't think about myself, I only think about the team and what I need to do, what I could do better," Tudor added.

"As I told the team, how to help them. That's what I'm focused on. I must be focused and be aware of everything going on."
