Wolves will have to wait longer for their first Premier League win of the season after Brighton salvaged a late draw on Sunday.

Ladislav Krejci revealed his frustration as Wolves conceded another late equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Brighton at Molineux Stadium on Sunday, extending their winless run in the Premier League.

Wolves took the lead 21 minutes in as Marshall Munetsi's thunderous volley deflected in off Bart Verbruggen, and the hosts maintained their control across the first half.

But Jan Paul van Hecke snatched a late point for Brighton with a powerful 86th-minute header, leaving Wolves rooted to the bottom of the table with just two points from their opening seven matches.

Sunday's result also mirrored Wolves' last league outing against Tottenham, where Santiago Bueno had given them the lead only for Joao Palhinha to salvage a draw with a stoppage-time equaliser.

Wolves have now failed to win in their last 11 league games, their longest run since a 13-game winless streak from May to November 2024.

Since the start of the 2022-23 campaign, Brighton are the opponent that Wolves have faced the joint-most times in the Premier League without managing a win (seven – D3 L4), along with seven versus Newcastle United (D2 L5).

Reflecting on the game, Krejci expressed his frustration at the team's inability to hold on.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "It's a big frustration [not to hold on for the win] because again we were very close to doing it, second time in a row.

"First half we scored a goal and had it under control, but then our concentration...

"I don't know what it is, but we have to go until the end. This cannot happen, we have lost four points in last two matches."

Indeed, Wolves have dropped seven points from winning positions this season, second only to Brentford (eight).

"The first half was much better than the second," Krejci continued. "In the second half we stopped playing because we knew how much we needed to win we sat back a bit."

Despite the frustration, the midfielder remains optimistic about Wolves' progress and urged his side to use the upcoming international break to reset.

"If we think back to how we started the season, we are going up and up. We need to get a clear head during the international break," Krejci added.

"It was a bit in our heads that we wanted to keep the clean sheet and the win."

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler conceded he was disappointed not to take all three points, though he acknowledged his side were not full value for the win.

“I think we started quite well, we controlled the game and had chances, but made an easy mistake and conceded out of nowhere,” Hurzeler said to Sky Sports.

“We lost a bit of our rhythm and Wolves had confidence. We always tried, never gave up.

“Overall, we are not happy with a point, but we know why we didn't win and have positives to take on. We have to analyse, push on and continue.”

The result continued a recent trend for Brighton, who have earned 30 points from losing positions under Hurzeler – more than any other team since the start of last season.

The German added: "Wolves had a lot of players in their own box defending well, but we created a lot of danger and were very dominant in the second half.

"We have to find solutions [to teams defending deep]. Not every team will defend like Wolves, with so many players with such effort an intensity. I'm sure we can create more in the next game.

"We have to reduce our own mistakes and work to keep a clean sheet. Then I am sure we will win."
