Atalanta 0-0 Lazio: Dominant hosts forced to settle for a point
Atalanta struck the post and dominated much of their clash with Lazio, but could not find the game's decisive goal in Bergamo.
Atalanta maintained their unbeaten start to the Serie A season following a goalless draw with Lazio, despite dominating at New Balance Arena.
The spoils were shared in Bergamo, where both teams were generally lacking quality in the final third.
Despite losing Matteo Cancellieri to injury in the first half, Lazio created the first decent chance of the game, with Matteo Guendouzi firing over from 14 yards out.
However, it was Atalanta who looked the more dangerous thereon. Ademola Lookman sent a free header over from six yards out, while Honest Ahanor poked wide from close range.
Ivan Provedel then came to the visitors' rescue with a couple of smart saves to deny Lookman and Nikola Krstovic.
Atalanta continued to push in search of the breakthrough with Davide Zappacosta rattling the woodwork, but they ultimately had to settle for a point.

Following Juventus' defeat at Como earlier on Sunday, Atalanta are the only unbeaten side remaining in Serie A this season.
La Dea have drawn five of their opening seven matches in a top-flight campaign for only the second time in their history, having also achieved the feat in 1977-78.
Meanwhile, Ivan Juric is only the second Atalanta boss to avoid defeat in each of his first seven league games in charge, after Giovanni Vavassori (eight).
Nevertheless, despite registering 16 shots on goal and an xG of 2.32 to their opponents' 0.25, they could not turn their dominance into victory.
