Ahead of Nottingham Forest's first European campaign since 1994-95, Neco Williams has extended his stay at the City Ground until 2029.

Nottingham Forest have announced that defender Neco Williams has put pen to paper on a new four-year contract at the City Ground.

Williams, who joined Forest from Liverpool in 2022, played a crucial role in helping Nuno Espirito Santo's side clinch European football last season.

The 24-year-old featured in 35 Premier League matches in 2024-25, registering one goal and three assists as Forest finished seventh in the standings.

Indeed, among defenders for Nuno's team, no one created more chances in the top flight than Williams (18) or had more successful crosses (13, level with Ola Aina).

Williams, whose previous deal had been set to expire in 2026, has made 107 appearances for Forest across all competitions.

"Everyone knows how ambitious our owner is, and I'm grateful to him for showing belief in me and showing belief in the club. The future is exciting," Williams told Forest's website.

"I am really happy here, and I can't wait to get back to work and go again. The fans at this club are special, and they have supported me since the day I joined.

"For us, it's a privilege to be playing for a football club with fans like the Forest fans. We are all looking forward to having those European nights at the City Ground and as a team we want to create more memories for everyone attached to Forest."

It is Forest's first piece of transfer business as they prepare to embark on their first European campaign since 1994-95.

"Nottingham Forest is a club for ambitious players; people who want to grow with us on our exciting journey and create special memories," owner Evangelos Marinakis added.

"Neco shares our vision for the direction we are going as a club, and he is a key part of our team."

Forest start their 2025-26 Premier League campaign at home to Brentford on August 17.
