Mohamed Salah and Bruno Fernandes headline the six-man shortlist for this year's PFA Player of the Year award after fine individual seasons.

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes are among the players shortlisted for the 2024-25 Men's PFA Player of the Year award.

The award is voted for by the players at the end of each season, with the winner set to be announced at a ceremony on August 19.

Salah's Liverpool team-mate Alexis Mac Allister is also listed, along with Arsenal's Declan Rice, Chelsea's Cole Palmer, and Newcastle United's Alexander Isak.

The Reds talisman, who previously won the award in 2017-18 and 2021-22, is expected to lift this year's title and become the first player to win the accolade three times.

Salah recorded 47 goal contributions in the Premier League during the 2024-25 season (29 goals, 18 assists), the joint-most ever by a player in a campaign in the competition's history, alongside Andy Cole in 1993-94 and Alan Shearer in 1994-95.

The 33-year-old also claimed his fourth Golden Boot, going level with Thierry Henry for the most in the Premier League, which has put him in contention for this year's Ballon d'Or.

Mac Allister also enjoyed a stellar season for Arne Slot's title winners, registering 10 goal involvements (five goals, five assists) in 35 Premier League appearances last season.

The Argentine won 58 tackles in the top flight last season, more than any player in the Liverpool team, while he also created the fifth-highest number of chances for the Reds.

Fernandes enjoyed another fine campaign in a disappointing one for United, creating more chances (91) than any other player in the Premier League in 2024-25.

He was also the first Red Devils player to record five or more goals (eight) and record 10 or more assists (10) in the competition since he did so himself in 2020-21.

Last season in the Premier League, Rice was one of just three players to record 25 or more interceptions (25), 50 or more chances created (59), 150 or more possession won (156) and 1250 or more successful passes (1326).

Last season's Young Player of the Year, Palmer has this year been nominated for the main prize, having scored 15 league goals to help Chelsea secure Champions League football for next season.

Isak, meanwhile, became the first Newcastle United player to score 23 goals in a Premier League season since Alan Shearer in 2001-02 (also 23).

The Sweden international also played a vital role in ending the Magpies' 70-year domestic trophy drought in their EFL Cup success over Liverpool, scoring his side's second goal at Wembley Stadium.
