Suarez extends Inter Miami contract for 2026 MLS season

After winning the MLS Cup, Luis Suarez has decided to put pen to paper on a new contract that will keep him at Inter Miami for another year.

Inter Miami have confirmed that striker Luis Suarez has re-signed with the club for the 2026 MLS season.

Suarez, who joined the Herons in 2024 from Gremio, helped Javier Mascherano's team to their first MLS Cup title earlier this month.

The Uruguayan registered 10 goals and 12 assists (including secondary assists, which are counted in MLS) in 32 league appearances for Miami during the 2025 campaign.

Indeed, since joining the club in December 2023, only Evander (62), Denis Bouanga (64) and Lionel Messi (90) have registered more MLS goal involvements than Suarez's 51.

It is good news for Miami, with Suarez's renewal only boosting the strike force that scored a league-high 101 goals in the regular season and playoffs this year.

Reports have also suggested that Tadeo Allende, who spent the 2025 season on loan from Celta Vigo, is in talks over a permanent move to Miami.

Allende scored 20 goals for Miami during his time with the club, with only Anders Dreyer (23), Sam Surridge (25), Bouanga (26) and Messi (35) finding the back of the net more in MLS.

Only Suarez and Messi remain from Miami's "Core Four" of former Barcelona players to feature for the Herons, following Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets' retirements.

Earlier this week, Miami replaced Alba by completing the signing of former Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon, who was a free agent after leaving Tottenham.
