Matthijs de Ligt scored in injury time to extend Manchester United's unbeaten run to five matches, but Ruben Amorim wants more aggression.

Ruben Amorim admitted Manchester United still had a long way to go and criticised aspects of their performance in their 2-2 draw with Tottenham, but remained content with a second successive away point.

Matthijs de Ligt scored in the sixth minute of added time to rescue it for United, after Tottenham had turned the match on its head through goals from Mathys Tel and Richarlison.

Amorim's side had been in front for a large part of the match through Bryan Mbeumo's first-half goal, and the 40-year-old was left disappointed, despite the club extending their unbeaten run in the Premier League to five games, their longest run in the competition since February 2024.

United are the first side to score the opening goal, go behind and then lose in successive Premier League games since Manchester City in May/August 2012.

Amorim believed the three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium were there for the taking, with United unable to muster any other shots on target outside of their two goals.

"We have a lot of problems, we are just in the beginning," he said.

"I know sometimes the results show people that we are improving: we are improving, but we have a lot to do.

"We were comfortable in the game, but I think we should do better, be more aggressive, feeling the environment in the stadium and that the three points were there, the space was there.

"I think we felt too comfortable during the game.

"We need to expect that in one play anything can happen and change the mood of the stadium, and today was that."

United were forced into making changes in the second half due to injuries to key players, and Amorim praised his side for fighting back against adversity in the dying stages of the match.

He said: "With everything that happened with Harry [Maguire] has to come out, Casemiro has to come out, then suffer two goals again in a short period of time, but to manage to score again, it's a point.

"When you cannot win, you don't lose the game. Once again, we managed to do that. If you look to the game, if you feel the environment, we have so much to grow as a team because it was our day to win this game."

Striker Benjamin Sesko, who came off the bench in the second half, also sustained an injury, pulling up towards the final few minutes of the match. As a result, United finished the match with 10 men, having used all of their substitutions.

However, Amorim refused to give much away in terms of its severity moving forward, saying: "We think he has a problem, but let's see."
