Chelsea are far from finished in the transfer window after opening talks with Ajax for Jorrel Hato.

Jorrel Hato's agent has confirmed Chelsea are in talks with Ajax to sign the defender.

Hato, 19, has caught the eye of many European clubs following some impressive performances for Ajax over the past three seasons.

The centre-back has played 75 games in the Eredivisie, winning 58.7% of his tackles and 54.9% of his duels.

During the 2024-25 season, his tackle success rate rose to 62.1% while he also contributed two goals and six assists.

Humphry Nijman, Hato's agent, told De Telegraaf: "Yes, the club has contacted Ajax.

"The only thing I can say is that Jorrel is now in talks with Chelsea."

Chelsea have already signed centre-back Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg in this window.

The Club World Cup winners also still have Levi Colwill, Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana, Axel Disasi, Aaron Anselmino, Tosin Adarabioyo and Benoit Badiashile on the books.

Chelsea have also reportedly opened talks with RB Leipzig in the hopes of bringing Xavi Simons to Stamford Bridge.
