Pervis Estupinan will make history at AC Milan after becoming the latest Brighton player to leave in the summer transfer window.

AC Milan have announced the signing of Pervis Estupinan from Brighton for a reported €19.5m (£17m).

The left-back has penned a five-year deal with Milan and becomes the first Ecuadorian player to represent the Italian side.

Estupinan joined Brighton from Villarreal in 2022 and played 104 times for the Seagulls.

He has won 48 caps for his country, and recorded four goals and nine assists in 84 Premier League matches for Brighton.

Hurzeler said: “I have enjoyed working with Pervis and he has made a significant contribution to the club during his time here.

“He is at the stage of his career when he wants a fresh challenge and this opportunity to play in Serie A gives him that.

“I’d like to thank Pervis for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best for the future.”

Estupinan is likely to be Theo Hernandez’s replacement for Milan.

Hernandez left the Rossoneri after six seasons with the club, joining Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

Estupinan is the second player in the space of two days to trade Brighton for Italy, with Evan Ferguson having joined Roma on loan on Wednesday.
