Paris Saint-Germain failed to win for the second Ligue 1 away game in a row, with former player Ethan Mbappe denying them a win on Sunday.

Luis Enrique insists he was "happy" and that nothing was lacking for Paris Saint-Germain despite their 1-1 draw with Lille on Sunday.

PSG had the chance to move three points clear at the top of Ligue 1 but failed to do so after former player Ethan Mbappe scored a late leveller for Lille following Nuno Mendes' stunning free-kick.

Luis Enrique's side struggled to create chances of quality, having to wait 29 minutes and 50 seconds for their first attempt, their latest first shot in a Ligue 1 match since December 2018 against Bordeaux (30 minutes).

PSG have failed to win three of their last four league games after a Champions League match (W1 D1 L2), having also lost to Marseille on MD5 following a midweek match in Europe.

Luis Enrique made a number of changes from their midweek win over Barcelona, but he said he had no regrets over PSG's performance.

"I think we started the match very well. We were in control; we tried to play our game," he said.

"We prioritised the players' health, because it was a difficult week after the match in Barcelona, with fatigue. We played a very good match; it was close.

"We scored thanks to Nuno, a sensational goal. We had a few chances; we could have won, but what happened was a bit like two years ago, when Lille scored at the end of the match. But I'm happy with my team.

"We're first in the league, well-placed in the Champions League. Throughout the season, we need to maintain this level to win trophies.

"We'll see that in the final part of the season. For now, we're happy. Now it's time to let the players join their national teams and prepare for what's next."

PSG finished the match with 17 efforts on goal, five of which were on target, and an expected goals (xG) tally of 1.5 to Lille's 0.7.

Lille only had three shots on target, with PSG not giving up any Opta-defined 'big' chances, though the hosts did have more touches in the opposition box (30 to 22).

"We did everything we needed to. We created more chances than our opponents," Luis Enrique said.

"I really like the way Lille plays, their mobility. But our team is very young, we must congratulate them.

"We try to do our job with the same intensity in every match. Whether there's more or less competition, it's interesting to have several teams fighting for the title. But we'll see in the end who's still there."
