After three years at Atletico Madrid, Samuel Lino has joined Brazilian giants Flamengo in a record-breaking transfer.

Samuel Lino has left Atletico Madrid to join Brazilian club Flamengo.

It was announced on Tuesday that the Brazilian winger would be leaving the Spanish giants for a reported fee of €22m, making Lino the most expensive signing in Flamengo’s history.

Signing on the dotted line until December 2029, Lino follows former Atleti team-mate Saul Niguez in joining Flamengo.

Lino becomes the tenth player to leave Atleti this summer, with Diego Simeone embarking on a squad overhaul.

He joined Atleti from Gil Vicente in 2022 and, after spending a season on loan at Valencia, established himself as a versatile attacking option.

Over his two seasons in Atleti's team, Lino racked up 93 appearances across all competitions, registering 28 goal involvements in the process.

Lino joins a Flamengo team sitting top of the Brazilian Serie A after 16 games as they seek to clinch their eighth championship.
