Luis Enrique is eyeing more success with Paris Saint-Germain, even as he acknowledges the challenge ahead of them as a dominant force.

Luis Enrique says that Paris Saint-Germain are "very ambitious" as he looks to turn their dominance into more trophies.

PSG won the treble last season, capping off the 2024-25 domestic season with their first Champions League triumph, which they sealed with a record-breaking 5-0 win over Inter.

They won the competition for the first time in their 168th match, the most that any side has taken to lift their maiden title in the Champions League.

Luis Enrique said after that victory that he did not want PSG to let their foot off the gas as he was targeting glory at the Club World Cup.

The French side are favourites to win the tournament, triumphing in 23.8% of the Opta supercomputer's simulations, and they got off to a strong start, beating Atletico Madrid 4-0 in their opener.

And Luis Enrique outlined his vision for the future of the club, as he looks to turn their recent success into long-term dominance.

"We are European champions, no one can take that away from us, and I think we are a great European champion because our journey has been difficult," Luis Enrique told reporters.

"But we are only at the beginning, the first steps of a team that wants to become dominant.

"Our goal is very, very ambitious. We have players and a club who want to keep winning, and we have fans who deserve many victories.

"It's very difficult to achieve, because we already see that everyone is playing with a special motivation against us.

"So, it's a very nice challenge for us. Everyone wants to play against us and beat us. Everyone speaks well of us, which is nice, but at the same time, we're trying to improve, taking advantage of that confidence."

PSG sit top of Group B ahead of their second Club World Cup match against Botafogo, which takes place on Thursday at the Rose Bowl.
