Sarina Wiegman conceded it "doesn't look good" for Michelle Agyemang after the England youngster suffered a serious injury.

Sarina Wiegman is fearful as to the extent of Michelle Agyemang's injury as she conceded it "does not look good" for the England youngster.

Agyemang was taken off on a stretcher during England's 3-0 friendly win over Australia on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old appeared to have sustained a knee injury, with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) issues particularly common in the women's game in recent years.

And Lionesses boss Wiegman is expecting bad news.

"Of course, it was an awful moment, it doesn't look good," she said.

"We don't know yet but I'm not very positive about what I've seen."

Agyemang, who is on loan at Brighton from Arsenal and starred for England at Euro 2025, left Pride Park on crutches.

"It is never nice when anyone comes off a stretcher, let alone a team-mate," said England forward Aggie Beever-Jones, speaking to ITV Sport.

"I don’t know what she has done but I will be praying she will be OK."

Beever-Jones netted England's opener on Tuesday, with Lucy Bronze and Georgia Stanway also scoring.

After losing to Brazil last week, England's victory over Australia means they are yet to lose back-to-back games under Wiegman across her 72 matches in charge.

England had 29 shots against Australia, which is the most attempts the Matildas have conceded in a single game, since Opta began recording such data.
