England were the first European nation to qualify for next year's World Cup, and Thomas Tuchel has promised a bold approach from his team.

Thomas Tuchel has vowed to be "brave" as he looks to achieve something "special" with England at next year's World Cup.

England became the first European nation to qualify for the 2026 edition of the tournament, which has been expanded to feature 48 teams.

The Three Lions will discover their fate on Friday, with the draw taking place in Washington D.C.

Ahead of the draw, England are ranked as the third favourites, with Opta's supercomputer handing them an 11.8% probability of winning the trophy. France (14.1%) and Spain (17.0%) are the only teams with a better chance according to the model's simulations.

And Tuchel sees no reason why England should not set out with confidence.

Asked if he felt confident, Tuchel told BBC Sport: "Yes, because we have got better. We have to arrive and try to make a special thing happen, but we cannot guarantee it."

Tuchel, who was brought in to get the Three Lions over the line in major tournaments after Gareth Southgate took them to successive Euros finals, was criticised early in his tenure for a more pragmatic approach, but England have hit their stride in recent months, albeit against weaker opponents.

Speaking to ITV Sport, Tuchel said: "Everyone knows that we cannot promise that we will win it, but they want to see a team, team spirit, a team that gives everything [and] fights for each other and they want that if they are in the stadium or watching on the TV.

"If the players bring that then I think anything is possible. We will be brave enough to dream about it, we will be brave enough to try it."
