Guehi set for Palace exit after turning down new deal
Marc Guehi's move to Liverpool over the summer did not go through, but he will be leaving Crystal Palace in 2026, Oliver Glasner confirmed.
Oliver Glasner revealed that Marc Guehi has informed Crystal Palace that he will not be signing a new contract and will leave the club next year.
Guehi was heavily linked with a move to champions Liverpool in the last transfer window and had looked set to move to Anfield on deadline day.
However, the reported £35m deal did not end up going through, with Palace opting to keep hold of their captain after failing to sign a replacement.
Guehi's current deal is set to run out in June next year, when he will leave as a free agent, and he now has the option to sign a pre-contract agreement with a non-English club in the January transfer window.
"I think Marc has already told us that he doesn't sign a new contract, so he will leave next year," said Glasner on Friday.
"The club wanted [him to stay]. They offered Marc a new contract. But he said, 'No, I want to make something different'. And that's normal.
"And for us, it's how we can deal with this situation? [What] is the best way to get this next step done? And that's all about how we are talking together."
Since joining Palace in July 2021, no player has played more successful passes (8,414), made more clearances (635), won more aerial duels (294) and made more interceptions (155) than Guehi for the Eagles in all competitions, while only Tyrick Mitchell (174) has featured more times for the club during that timeframe.
Reports suggest Palace would prefer to sell Guehi in January, with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich all said to be interested in the England defender's signature.
