Hannah Hampton's elbow injury on Saturday means that one of the England goalkeepers will make her debut against Brazil at the Etihad.

Hannah Hampton will miss England's friendly against Brazil on Saturday due to an elbow injury.

Hampton has only been ruled out for the first game in the 'Homecoming Series', following her starring role at Euro 2025, in which she saved two penalties in the showpiece shootout.

Brighton goalkeeper Sophie Baggaley has been called up to the squad as extra cover, and with Hampton's absence, there is set to be a new face in goal.

Khiara Keating of Manchester City and Orlando Pride's Anna Moorhouse are also in the squad, having been called up for the Euros but not featuring.

Wiegman has already decided who will be starting between the sticks at the Etihad but stayed tight-lipped about her choice.

"Of course, it's not nice to have an injury, but it's not a major injury. It's also an opportunity for the other goalkeepers," Wiegman told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"These friendly games are good to try out things, and we were going to do that anyway. With goalkeepers, it's always harder as there's just one position.

"They are two very different goalkeepers in Khiara Keating and Anna Moorhouse. Khiara is a young, very talented player.

"Khiara is very explosive on the line and has good skills playing out from the back. Anna is tall, so good at defending crosses. At her club, they play a little differently and are more direct, so they are the differences."

Arsenal defender Lotte Wubben-Moy is also set to miss the game against Brazil through illness, which follows Jess Park's withdrawal earlier in the week through concussion.

With captain Leah Williamson also not included as she continues her recovery from knee surgery, former Man City player Keira Walsh will wear the armband on Saturday.

And Lucy Bronze, who recently returned to action having played through Euro 2025 with a fractured leg, is in the frame to play, which Wiegman believes will be a boost to the squad.

"Lucy Bronze is available, and she's still building. As always, she's ready to start. Whether she's going to start, you'll see," Wiegman said.

"Her consistency and the way she expresses herself, or conducts herself, on the pitch and off the pitch. She's so tough, and she makes such a huge contribution.

"I think she impacts some of the players' lives, just by helping them, supporting them whenever they need something. But at the same time, she has great levels on the pitch, which is why I pick her.

"When all these extras come with it, that really helps the team moving forward."

Following their match against Brazil, England will host Australia in the second friendly of the series at Pride Park on Tuesday.
