Felix Nmecha bagged a brace as Borussia Dortmund strolled to a comfortable 4-2 win away at FC Copenhagen.

Borussia Dortmund continued their fine start in the Champions League as they defeated FC Copenhagen 4-2.

A cagey opening resulted in few chances, but the visitors did break the deadlock in the 20th minute of the match through their first shot on target, as Felix Nmecha rifled an effort into the roof of the net from distance.

Nmecha continued to play a pivotal role as the half wore on, setting up Maximillian Beier for an opportunity, but he dragged his effort wide of the post.

Nevertheless, Copenhagen equalised before the end of the first 45 as ex-Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko had an effort saved by Gregor Kobel from a corner, with Ramy Bensebaini’s clearance striking team-mate Waldemar Anton and finding its way into the net.

After early Copenhagen pressure at the start of the second half, Dortmund regained their lead as Lukas Lergager dragged Serhou Guirassy down in the area, with Bensebaini making no mistake from the spot.

After Guirassy and Jobe Bellingham went close, the away side added a third as Nmecha cooly slotted home his second of the night.

Substitute Fabio Silva added more gloss to the scoreline with a fantastic first-time finish, while the Danish side pulled a goal back in injury time through Viktor Dadason's header, which was confirmed following a VAR review.

Data Debrief: Dortmund continue unbeaten run in Denmark and break scoring record

This was the fourth time Borussia Dortmund had faced a Danish team away from home in Europe, and they continued their unbeaten run, with two victories and two draws. This was their first win in the Champions League on Danish soil, though, having drawn 2-2 away to Copenhagen three years ago.

The German outfit also continued their strong record in the Champions League under Niko Kovac. They have now lost just one of their nine matches under him - the lowest loss percentage of any Dortmund head coach who has managed more than two matches in Europe's top club competition.

After another four goals this evening, Dortmund have now scored three or more in four consecutive games for the first time in the competition's history.

With two wins from 17 matches, which amounts to just over 11.7%, Copenhagen have the lowest win percentage of any team that has played over 15 matches in the Champions League since the start of 2022/23.
