Rangers hierarchy must unite after Thelwell and Stewart sackings, says Rohl
It is all change in the Rangers boardroom and manager Danny Rohl issued a rallying cry to the club's hierarchy.
Danny Rohl implored Rangers' hierarchy to come together as one ready for the upcoming transfer window after the shock sackings of Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart.
CEO Thelwell and chairman Stewart paid the price for the failed appointment of former boss Russell Martin and an expensive transfer recruitment in the last window that was heavily criticised.
Former Sheffield Wednesday manager Rohl was the man chosen to replace Martin at the helm at Ibrox and will now have heavy involvement in any recruitment when the window re-opens.
The German opened up on the dramatic events in Govan and said those in the technical team now have to fall in line behind a common cause.
Speaking prior to Rangers' Europa League clash with Braga on Thursday, Rohl said: "It's not nice when some people around you get sacked.
"I had a good relationship with Kevin, we were always in a daily business, we spoke to each other with Patrick as well. They were also involved in the process when I arrived here.
"But then I got a call from Andrew, who gave me this message.
"We had a meeting, a dinner together, one day later, to speak about the situation, the process, and now it's about looking forward to the future.
"This is football, sometimes these things happen. For me, it's now about focusing on the next games and the next processes.
"It's important to understand how we work. I think this is always a togetherness. We had this communication before, yesterday we had the next meeting, to give some updates now with the other people.
"It's important to know that I'm close to Andrew, we are in contact every day, we speak to each other. But there are also good people around who support me, I think this is crucial.
"I cannot do this alone or can't make decisions alone. I think it's important to understand that we have a good structure in the club.
"Of course it has changed now, but we have an interim CEO, Fraser Thornton, who is very experienced. He will help me, we have some guys from the board, from the 49ers around me, and we also have a recruitment department. We all have to go together in one direction. Let's see what we can do."
