Atletico Madrid have lost their last two matches, both away from home, and they are looking to bounce back against PSV on Tuesday.

Diego Simeone admits Atletico Madrid have lacked decisiveness, but he is not downhearted by their recent struggles on the road ahead of travelling to PSV in the Champions League.

Atletico have lost their last two matches to Athletic Club and Barcelona, respectively, both away from home in LaLiga.

They have also been beaten in both of their Champions League games on the road so far, going down to Premier League sides Liverpool and Arsenal.

In fact, 13 of Atletico's last 17 wins in the competition have been achieved in home matches.

While they are on a six-game winning streak at home in the competition, Simeone's side have lost each of their last three on the road – they have only lost four in a row in the European Cup/Champions League once previously (April–November 2022).

"The results haven't been as positive as we would have liked," Simeone said in his press conference.

"We did many good things in away games; I'd say that to be where we've been these past 14 years, we must have won away games...

"For me, it all comes down to decisiveness. The team is playing well. Against [Real] Betis, we scored early. Against Getafe, we had chances and didn't take them, and we were under pressure until the 80th minute. Teams struggle away from home."

Atletico are 12th in the Champions League table on nine points but are just one behind eighth-placed Sporting CP heading into the sixth round of matches.

Though Simeone's side have lost their last two league outings, they have won their last two matches in Europe, beating Union Saint-Gilloise and Inter.

Atletico have a strong record against PSV, going unbeaten in their last six meetings with the Dutch side (W4 D2). Only against Celtic (eight) and Lokomotiv Moscow (seven) have they faced a side more without suffering defeat.

And Simeone is not worried about his side going on a bad run, saying: "The players are so used to playing so frequently.

"Football has changes within the game. The important thing is to do things right. Doing them right doesn't guarantee you'll win, but doing them wrong almost certainly means you won't."
