Brazilian striker Igor Jesus has joined Nottingham Forest in the Premier League after a successful spell with Botafogo.

Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Igor Jesus from Botafogo.

The 24-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the Premier League club after a reported £10m transfer to the City Ground.

The striker began his career at Coritiba in his native Brazil before joining Shabab Al Ahli in the UAE, where he scored 43 goals and registered 20 assists in 88 appearances.

He returned to Brazil in July 2024 and helped Botafogo win the Serie A title as well as the Copa Libertadores last season.

Jesus played in all four of Botafogo's Club World Cup matches, scoring the winners against both the Seattle Sounders and Paris Saint-Germain in the group stage before a last-16 exit to Palmeiras.

He also scored on his senior international debut for Brazil in October 2024 against Chile and provided an assist against Peru.

Igor Jesus told the Forest website: "I'm really happy to be a part of this new story, especially at a club like Nottingham Forest.

"I didn't have to think twice about the offer; I embraced it. I embraced the project that they sent me. I am delighted to be coming here and hope to do some great work.

"I will do my very best to achieve great results and bring joy to all the Forest family."

Jesus, who can play across the frontline, could serve as a potential replacement for Anthony Elanga.

The Swedish winger has been heavily linked with a move to Newcastle United this summer, after they reportedly submitted a second bid worth £55m.
