Mia Fishel's time at Chelsea was disrupted by a serious knee injury, and she is now leaving the Blues to return to the United States.

Mia Fishel has left Chelsea, signing a long-term deal with NWSL side Seattle Reign.

The forward has signed a four-year deal with Seattle, committing her future through to 2029, with the transfer fee undisclosed.

Fishel joined Chelsea at the start of the 2023-24 season from Mexican side Tigres and scored the winning goal against Tottenham on her Women's Super League debut.

However, her time in the WSL was marred by an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury as she managed just 10 appearances in her debut season, and only four last term.

Fishel made her return for Chelsea in March and managed just one other league goal for the club, the final goal in a 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace in April.

"I'm incredibly excited to sign a long-term contract in the NWSL and take this next step in my career with Seattle Reign FC," said Fishel.

"This league is one of the best in the world, and I'm looking forward to the opportunity. I can't wait to get started and contribute to the team's success."

Fishel won two WSL titles with Chelsea, as well as the FA Cup and Women's League Cup in 2024-25.
