It is now three defeats in three games for Wilfried Nancy, whose Celtic side were beaten by St Mirren in Sunday's Scottish League Cup final.

St Mirren heaped more misery on Celtic with a commanding 3-1 victory in the Scottish League Cup final.

Jonah Ayunga scored twice while former Hoops player Marcus Fraser was also on target, as they inflicted a third successive defeat on Wilfried Nancy.

Just two minutes had elapsed at Hampden Park when Fraser towered above the Celtic defence to head home Keanu Baccus' cross.

Dan Nlundulu twice went close for Stephen Robinson's side, but the Hoops levelled midway through the first half when Kieran Tierney's deep ball was volleyed in by Reo Hatate.

Ayunga restored St Mirren's lead in the 64th minute with Alex Gogic setting him up to make it 2-1.

The forward then put the final beyond Celtic 12 minutes from time, rounding off a swift counter to secure victory for the Buddies.

Data Debrief: Buddies double up after 13 years

St Mirren claimed their second Scottish League Cup title, 13 seasons after their first, and in what was their fourth final, having also been runners-up in 1955-56 and 2009-10.

As for Celtic, they missed the opportunity to successfully defend their crown, despite registering 73.7% of possession over 90 minutes.

There was more unwanted history for Nancy, who had already become the first Celtic coach to lose both of his opening two matches in charge.
