Los Angeles FC and the LA Galaxy played out a dramatic 3-3 draw in Saturday's derby, with the visitors leaving it late to earn a point.

Maya Yoshida snatched a 97th-minute goal as LA Galaxy came from behind to draw 3-3 with 10-man Los Angeles FC in Saturday's El Trafico derby.

Denis Bouanga opened the scoring 26 minutes in to extend his scoring streak to four games with a tidy finish into the bottom-right corner before Javairo Dilrosun doubled their lead five minutes later.

However, Ryan Hollingshead gave away a penalty for a handball in the box shortly after, with Gabriel Pec having the deficit 10 minutes before half-time.

Bouanga restored LAFC's two-goal cushion in the 67th minute, scoring a wonderful solo goal when one-on-one with Novak Micovic after a quick counter-attack.

Pec again pulled the Galaxy back into the match, linking up with Marco Reus with 11 minutes remaining, but there were still more twists in the tale.

Eddie Segura was shown a straight red card for violent conduct after a coming together between both sides, and Yoshida used that to his advantage as he headed Mauricio Cuevas' cross past the wrong-footed Hugo Lloris.

The Galaxy remain bottom of the Western Conference, two points behind St. Louis City SC, while LAFC stay fifth, having missed the chance to leapfrog the Seattle Sounders.

The Sounders also came from behind to get three points on the board in a 3-2 win over the San Jose Earthquakes.

Substitute Danny Musovski equalized just one minute after Preston Judd had given the 'Quakes the lead before putting Seattle in front early in the second half.

Though Cristian Arango got the visitors back on level terms, Pedro de la Vega netted the winner in the 69th minute to extend Seattle's unbeaten streak to five games.

They are now six points behind Western Conference leaders San Diego FC, with a game in hand, after Mikey Varas' side played out a 1-1 draw with the Vancouver Whitecaps.

In the Eastern Conference, Charlotte FC boosted their playoff hopes with a third consecutive victory as they beat Atlanta United 3-2.

Idan Toklomati, Wilfried Zaha and Pep Biel all scored for the Crown between Tristan Muyumba's opener and Emmanuel Latte Lath's 86th-minute strike to move them up to seventh.

And the East has a new leader, after FC Cincinnati edged to a 1-0 victory over Real Salt Lake thanks to Luca Orellano's 87th-minute goal.

Data Debrief: Galaxy show their fight

The Galaxy had to hold firm after LAFC got a strong foothold in the game, but the visitors actually had the better chances.

Greg Vanney's side had 11 shots worth 1.7 expected goals (xG), with six of those attempts on target, while their hosts had eight efforts (four on target), worth 1.4 xG.

Despite failing to hold out for a win, Bouanga continued to show his strengths for LAFC. He now has 13 goals for the season, more than any other player in the team.
