Rohl hails ‘so much potential’ at Rangers after being named new head coach
Rangers have experienced their worst start to a campaign in their history, but new head coach Danny Rohl has real belief in the club.
Danny Rohl has claimed that he sees "so much potential" at Rangers, following his appointment as the club's new head coach.
Rangers' dismal start to the 2025-26 campaign under Russell Martin saw the club win just one of their opening eight Premiership games, drawing six and losing one.
In that period, the Glasgow club also failed to qualify for this season's Champions League, crashing out in the qualifiers after succumbing to a 9-1 aggregate scoreline against Club Brugge.
Rohl, who had led financially-hamstrung Sheffield Wednesday to back-to-back Championship survivals, had previously worked as an assistant under Hansi Flick at both Bayern Munich and the German national team, as well as for Ralph Hassenhuttl at RB Leipzig and Southampton.
"I'm really looking forward to being part of this amazing football club. We want to win, we need wins because we want to turn around the position at the moment," Rohl said during his unveiling.
"I am looking for an ambitious club, a club that is wanting more. This club has everything for all these goals.
"My job is clear. My focus is on my person, what I can bring to this football club. We want to create chances, we want to create goals. We want to defend as a team.
"We have to win games then we can speak about playing attractive football."
The German head coach is set to take control in the Rangers dugout for their Europa League clash with Brann on Thursday, before making his Ibrox introductions against Kilmarnock on Sunday.
"We need wins in a row. I see so much potential," Rohl added.
"If you can bring the squad together with your style of football... then you will go in a fantastic direction.
"You can be the first, the second or the third choice. The important thing is to win games. I cannot tell you which choice I am. I am here."
