Mason Mount seems to have overcome the worst of his injury issues at Manchester United, and is now a regular under Ruben Amorim.

Mason Mount's footballing intelligence and know-how bring a much-needed balance to Manchester United's attack, so says Ruben Amorim.

Mount endured an injury-hit first two seasons at United following his move to Old Trafford from Chelsea in 2023, but seems to have overcome the worst of those issues now.

The playmaker managed just 31 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils across 2023-24 and 2024-25.

In fact, he has already made more starts (seven) in the top flight this term than he did in 2023-24 (five), and only one less than he managed last season (eight).

He has featured for 585 minutes, which betters his total from 2023-24 (513) and is not far behind his 621 minutes of action in the competition from last term.

Mount has played in United's last five games, while he started, scored and assisted in their 4-1 victory at Wolves on Monday.

"He's a very, very smart player," Amorim said, as reported by ESPN.

"He's really technical because sometimes to be a technical player is not just having fun with the ball – it's the quality of the pass, the reception, how to receive the ball. In these things he's really smart.

"He can balance our team quite well so he's a very good player."

Mount, who has scored three goals and set up as many in the Premier League this season, will hope to keep up his strong form when United take on Bournemouth on Monday.
