Just three days before their Women's League Cup clash with Manchester City, West Ham have made the decision to sack Rehanne Skinner.

Rehanne Skinner has been sacked by West Ham after winning just one of their 11 Women's Super League games so far this season.

Skinner, who joined the Hammers from London rivals Tottenham in June 2023, was relieved of her duties on Friday, leaving the team down in 11th in the table.

Her final match came last Saturday at Chigwell Construction Stadium, with the Hammers squandering two one-goal leads to draw with bottom club Liverpool.

West Ham have collected just five points from their opening 11 WSL matches this season (W1 D2 L8) – their lowest at this stage of a single campaign in the competition.

"West Ham United can confirm that women's team head coach Rehanne Skinner has left the club with immediate effect," a club statement read.

"Recent results have not matched expectations and the board of directors believes that a change is necessary to help improve the team's position in the WSL as soon as possible.

"The board would like to thank Rehanne for her hard work and commitment during her time with the Hammers and wish her every success for the future.

"The process of recruiting a new women's team head coach is underway. The club will make no further comment at this time."

West Ham's struggles under Skinner have been at both ends of the pitch, with the Hammers conceding more goals (23) than any other team in the WSL in 2025-26.

They have also only managed to find the back of the net nine times this season, with only Liverpool (eight) and Leicester City (seven) managing to score fewer goals.

During Skinner's tenure, West Ham finished second from bottom in 2023-24 and fourth from the foot of the standings last season.

Overall, she oversaw 55 WSL games in charge of the Hammers, winning just 10 (D13 L32), a win percentage of just 18.2% with a points-per-game ratio of 0.78.

West Ham host Manchester City in the League Cup quarter-final this Sunday before taking on reigning champions Chelsea in the WSL on January 11 , after the winter break.
