Paris Saint-Germain returned to the Ligue 1 summit after a 3-2 win over Metz, with Quentin Ndjantou scoring his first professional goal.

Quentin Ndjantou was quick to thank his Paris Saint-Germain team-mates after he scored his first professional goal in their 3-2 win over Metz.

The 18-year-old found the back of the net shortly after Goncalo Ramos broke the deadlock, with Desire Doue also getting on the scoresheet.

Ndjantou was assisted by Ibrahim Mbaye, a week after providing the assist for Mbaye himself against Rennes.

PSG have scored three goals in Ligue 1 in 2025 where both the scorer and the provider were academy players (also Senny Mayulu from an assist by Warren Zaire-Emery v Montpellier in May), as many as in the previous 20 years combined.

Ndjantou was delighted to finally get on the scoresheet for the Parisien club, but was even happier with the three points which took them to first in the league.

“My first professional goal? I'm very proud,” said the teenager.

“I'm very happy to have scored this goal. I'd like to thank my team-mates, including Ibrahim Mbaye for the assist.

“I'm very happy today, we won the match, there's nothing better. I'm very happy with his match, my match, and the team's performance.

“Today we showed character, despite the many attacks from Metz. We were very good and very strong together. It's a team victory.”

PSG have won their 49th match in all competitions in 2025 (D7 L9), their highest tally in a calendar year (48 in 2017).

They have also won five of their last six Ligue 1 matches (L1), after winning only two of their previous six (D3 L1).

Luis Enrique was glad to see his team leave with the win, but admitted that they could have controlled the match better.

“We started the match very well, with control and everything we want to do on the pitch,” said the PSG boss.

“We scored two goals, and I thought the match would be easier than it was in the second half, but we had to make some changes out of necessity and lost control.

“The last part of the match was very difficult, but we won and got the three points, so that's positive, but it was very tough.”
