Alvaro Morata has been linked with a move to Como, but it is not proving straightforward despite apparently reaching a deal with AC Milan.

Como president Mirwan Suwarso revealed the club had reached an agreement to sign Alvaro Morata, but are waiting on AC Milan and Galatasaray.

Morata joined Milan in July 2024 on a four-year contract, with the option for a further year, but he was loaned to Galatasaray in February, with that deal lasting until January 2026.

The Super Lig side are said to have the option to buy Morata at the end of the loan or extend it for a further six months to June 2026.

However, the Spaniard, who netted seven goals in all competitions for Galatasaray last term, has been linked with a move to Como this transfer window.

That deal will rely on talks between Milan and Galatasaray to end the loan, though the Turkish side are expected to let Morata leave, should they sign Victor Osimhen.

Cesc Fabregas has talked about transfers in recent weeks, claiming he would love to be reunited with Lionel Messi, whom he played with at Barcelona, but Suwarso brushed that off while insisting Morata was a more likely option.

"We try to give the coach the best possible team," Suwarso told Sky Italia. "Only Fabregas can answer on what is missing; investments are made to have a return.

"For me, Messi is not a dream, it's impossible. Morata? All that's missing is for it to be here.

"We have an agreement with Milan and with the player. Galatasaray and Milan have to talk; we did what we had to."

Morata has made 146 appearances in Serie A for both Juventus and Milan, netting 56 goals overall. He has also registered 28 assists, though none of those came in a Rossoneri shirt.

Como's signings this window also include the permanent signing of Maximo Perrone from Manchester City and Nicolas Kuhn from Celtic as they look to build on their 10th-place finish in 2024-25.
