Son Heung-min registered his first MLS goal involvement as Los Angeles FC ended a three-game wait for a league victory on Saturday.

Son Heung-min is "enjoying every second" with Los Angeles FC, having registered an assist on his first start for the club as they beat the New England Revolution 2-0.

Son enjoyed a positive MLS debut last week, coming off the bench to win a penalty as LAFC rescued a 2-2 draw on the road against the Chicago Fire.

The Tottenham legend then made his first start in another away game, marking the occasion with a late assist for Mathieu Choiniere to clinch victory at Gillette Stadium.

Mark Delgado's pinpoint finish from the edge of the area had given LAFC a 51st-minute lead, and they made sure of the points four minutes into stoppage time, when Son calmly offloaded to Choiniere, who stroked home for his first LAFC goal.

Son's home debut will not come until the end of August, with LAFC visiting FC Dallas next Saturday before they welcome San Diego FC to BMO Stadium the following week.

"I'm enjoying every single day, every single second," the South Korea forward said in a post-match interview on MLS Season Pass.

"Especially when you win away from home, it feels even better. I am enjoying every single moment."

Son had more shots (four), shots on target (two), and expected goals (0.5 xG) than any other player on the pitch, while his five chances created were more than the rest of his team-mates combined (four).

Only Timothy Tillman (32) bettered Son's 24 passes in the final third for LAFC, while none of the forward's team-mates won more duels (seven) or recovered possession in the final third more often (twice).

LAFC boss Steve Cherundolo praised Son's attitude as well as his technical ability, saying: "He brings a smile to work every day, which I find very important in my work.

"You get a happy player, a highly motivated player, a good communicator with the group, and on top of that, you're getting his technical ability, his speed, his finishing, and the experience he's built over all these years. We are delighted to have him."

LAFC sit fifth in the Western Conference, nine points behind leaders San Diego with two games in hand, though the expansion team face the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday.

LAFC are just a point behind the Seattle Sounders after Joaquin Pereyra's goal condemned Brian Schmetzer's team to a 1-0 defeat at Minnesota United, ending their seven-game unbeaten run in MLS play.

The Loons are second, just two points behind San Diego and two clear of the Vancouver Whitecaps, who could hand Thomas Muller his MLS debut against the Houston Dynamo on Sunday.

In the Eastern Conference, there were 3-2 victories for leaders FC Cincinnati (against the Portland Timbers) and Chicago, with the latter coming from 2-1 down to beat St. Louis City SC.
