Revierderby: Sancho on the bench, Reyna gets first start for Dortmund against Schalke

Lucien Favre did not include Jadon Sancho in his starting line-up for Saturday's Revierderby between Borussia Dortmund and Schalke.

Jadon Sancho was named among the Borussia Dortmund substitutes, while Giovanni Reyna received a first senior start against Schalke on Saturday.

England international Sancho was not included in the starting line-up for the Revierderby at an empty Signal Iduna Park as the Bundesliga returned from a two-month break due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Reyna, 17, and Julian Brandt were selected in support of striker Erling Haaland, with Thorgan Hazard and Mario Gotze on the bench and Marco Reus missing out through injury.

With Axel Witsel and Emre Can also unavalible for selection due to injury, Thomas Delaney and Mahmoud Dahoud were drafted into midfield by Lucien Favre.

The hiatus in the season meant Schalke were able to welcome Suat Serdar back from a broken toe, while Salif Sane, who last played in November, returned from a knee injury.
