AC Milan appoint former Porto boss Conceicao after Fonseca sacking
AC Milan have appointed Sergio Conceicao as their new boss after a run of two wins in five saw Paulo Fonseca sacked on Monday.
Serie A giants AC Milan have appointed Sergio Conceicao as their manager after parting ways with Paulo Fonseca.
Milan's decision to sack Fonseca came after just two wins from their last seven Serie A games, leaving them eight points behind leaders Atalanta in the standings.
Conceicao was most recently in charge of Porto, where he won three league titles and five cup competitions in seven seasons in charge of the club.
During his time in Portugal, he won 274 of his 379 games in charge in all competitions (D53 L52), averaging a win percentage of 72.30%, the highest of the six clubs he has previously managed.
Conceicao takes over a side that sit eighth in Serie A, but have fared better in Europe, occupying 12th place in the new 36-team Champions League table after six games.
