Ruben Dias has settled in well at Manchester City, but Pep Guardiola would not confirm if his new signing will start at Elland Road.

Pep Guardiola will decide after training on Friday whether new signing Ruben Dias will start for Manchester City at Leeds United on Saturday.

Dias joined City for an initial fee of £62million (€68m), with Nicolas Otamendi heading to Benfica as part of the deal.

City boss Guardiola said the Portugal centre-back has settled in well, but would not confirm if he will go straight into the side for the Premier League clash at Elland Road.

He said during a news conference on Friday: "He [Dias] trained two training sessions, yesterday and today.

"He's good, he's part of the team right now, we'll see tomorrow, training session this afternoon then we'll decide."

Gabriel Jesus will not face in-form Leeds as the striker continues to recover from knee surgery.

Asked about the Brazil international's condition, Guardiola replied: "He is not ready. Hopefully after the international break he will be ready."

Ilkay Gundogan, who tested positive for coronavirus last month, returned to the club on Friday but has not rejoined his team-mates for training.

Guardiola said of the midfielder: "Today was the first day he is back but he didn't train. He will train with us during the international break and we will see."

Guardiola's side were hammered 5-2 at home by Leicester City in the Premier League last weekend before responding with a 3-0 EFL Cup victory at Burnley.
