The FotMob Team of the Week for Matchday 35 was dominated by Newcastle United. The Magpies had four players make it into the XI after a dominant display against Sheffield United. But who else joined them and why?

Goalkeeper: Arijanet Muric

The 25-year-old is yet again in the FotMob Team of the Week. Muric impressed for Burnley in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Saturday, making an astonishing nine saves. The shot-stopper faced shots with an Expected Goals on Target total of 2.15 but was beaten just once. He’s been key to Burnley’s recent good form.

Right-Back: Tino Livaramento

Livaramento caught the eye for Newcastle United in the 5-1 win over Sheffield United. The versatile full-back was deployed at right-back on Saturday afternoon and he carved out three chances for the Magpies. He had over 100 touches and completed 92% of his passes. The 21-year-old won five of his eight ground duels and 50% of his aerial duels at St James’ Park.

Centre-Back: James Tarkowski

The Everton defender put in a dominant display in the 1-0 win over Brentford. Tarkowski won the most duels (10), completed 82% of his passes, won 100% of his tackles and 100% of his duels. The 31-year-old played a significant part in the Toffees keeping a third successive clean sheet following that 6-0 loss to Chelsea in mid-April.

Centre-Back: Toti Gomes

Toti was the unlikely match-winner for Wolves as they claimed a 2-1 win over Luton Town on Saturday. The 25-year-old centre-back scored in the 50th minute, powering a header past Thomas Kaminski to double the lead. The away side halved the deficit late on, making Toti’s goal even more valuable. He also won five of his eight aerial duels and completed 89% of his passes.

Left-Back: Joško Gvardiol

Gvardiol now has two goals in his last three Premier League appearances for the Premier League champions. The versatile defender opened the scoring for Manchester City in their 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday and he put in quite a dominant showing defensively. The former RB Leipzig centre-back won 100% of his tackles, 60% of his ground duels and 75% of his aerial duels.

Midfield: Noni Madueke

The Chelsea winger really caught the eye in the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa. Madueke claimed a FotMob rating of 9.0 having scored the first goal for Maurico Pochettino’s side. He also created two chances, completed the most dribbles (six), had four shots and won a total of 12 of the 16 duels he was involved in. It is rare for a Chelsea player to outshine Cole Palmer this season but Madueke did just that at Villa Park.

Midfield: Antony

The Manchester United attacker scored his first Premier League goal of the season in the 1-1 draw with Burnley. It was arguably his best performance of the season. He had a total of eight shots, created one chance, finished with an Expected Goal involvement of 1.68 and was fouled on four occasions, the most of any player on the pitch.

Midfield: Bruno Guimarães

The midfield playmaker completed the most passes (71) of any player in Newcastle’s 5-1 victory against the Blades. The 26-year-old, who was linked with a £100million move away from St James’ Park recently, scored a goal and created two chances in what was a dominant display. Guimarães completed four of his five dribbles and involved himself in 17 duels, showcasing his strengths with and without the ball.

Attack: Alexander Isak

The Newcastle United forward had a strange game on Saturday. The 24-year-old had the fewest number of touches (34) of anyone to play 90 minutes but he was so impactful. Isak scored two goals, taking his tally to 19 this season, while also creating two chances for the Magpies. He had a total of five shots and completed 100% of his dribbles, proving that, sometimes, less can be more.

Attack: Kai Havertz

Havertz made it three goals and an assist in the space of two Premier League games for Arsenal. He used the impressive two-goal showing against Chelsea in mid-week as a platform for the game against Spurs on Sunday. The versatile attacker scored and assisted in the 3-2 win in the North London derby to keep the Gunners top of the Premier League.

Attack: Anthony Gordon

Gordon was yet again a menace for Newcastle United as the Magpies romped to a 5-1 win against Sheffield United. It was a remarkable scoreline when you consider the hosts went 1-0 down early on at St James’ Park. Gordon claimed a FotMob rating of 8.6 having created three chances, one big chance and registering another assist. He’s now on 19 goal involvements for the season.
